Have you ever asked yourself that question? Why do we Worship. The Bible makes it clear that the purpose of worship is to glorify, honor, praise, exalt, and please God.
Over the last several months, many suggestions have been made from the congregation as to how we can improve our Worship Service. Those involved in this Ministry, have prayed that the Lord will give us direction in what He would want us to do. We feel that the Lord has answered these prayers and challenged us to take time to reflect on the actual purpose of Worship. We feel that He is leading us to reevaluate our motives for Worship and to renew our commitment to “Glorify, Honor, Praise, Exalt and Please God”.
So, that is exactly what we are going to do. This summer, we will be seeking the Lord’s direction. Starting next week, we will be beginning a series of lessons titled “The Purpose of Worship”. Each week, a short lesson will be printed in the bulletin. We ask that you read this lesson prior to the service beginning as the music selected for that day will be directly related to the message in the lesson.
Additionally, we are asking each and every member to be praying for the church. Be praying that we will be given wisdom and discernment and be able to clearly see the Lord’s direction in everything we do.
The series will conclude on September 11th with a Victory Worship Service – but more on that, later!
